By Wesley Teter, M.A. in Community and Youth Development
Self-Imposed Vigilance for Good Governance (SIV-G) based in Chennai, India is a remarkable example of community building based on youth-adult partnerships. Further, it is asset-based and incorporates what have become known as the “Five Cs” of positive youth development: Competence, Confidence, Connection, Character, and Caring (see Richard Lerner, Tufts University).
