The Online Essay Contest 2010 has just concluded.  The theme of the Contest was "Integrity and good governance".  The Prize Distribution function was held on 31st October 2010 at Chennai.  Thanks to the response from the participants and prize winners, this effort is a grand success, once again.

This is evident from what the prize winners expressed, as may be seen below:

1.  "Participating in this contest itself was a good learning experience and quite enriching. Through writing what was on my mind, I could have a better perspective of things. Winning a prize only made me feel more confident to take it up as a responsibility to spread national integrity in my own small way. Reading the other essays on the website proves that there are many more people who want to make a difference and that it is indeed possible. I am also quite impressed by the initiative taken by the siv-g team to introduce a NGC in schools. I look forward to take part in this competition in the coming years.

We missed G. Suresh sir in the program.

My humble opinion is that the first three prize winners at least must have been given the opportunity to tell everyone what was on their mind. I am sure that would have been great because each person would have had a different aspect to highlight on.

The program was really good.

P.S : Congratulations to all the prize winners."

- Akshaya Parthasarathy, XII Std., Vidyodaya Matriculation Academy, Chennai - First Prize Winner

2.  "I feel proud to be associated with this competition. in 2008, when i participated in the competition, i didn't win any prize. in 2009, i walked away with consolation prize. and in 2010, i have won second place. this shows how siv-g has helped in boosting up my writing talent. it has given me a new platform to exhibit my writing interests. Writing for this competition is a great experience which enriched my writing experience as well as my perspective of the nation. i learnt a lot about the structure of our government, duties of people, righteousness in people etc. while preparing for this competition. i would fail if i don't thank siv-g and suresh govindrajan sir for his work in motivation of youngsters."

-Srinath. N, National University of Singapore (II Prize winner)

3.  "At the outset, I would like to thank SIV-G for providing me with this wonderful opportunity.

This essay competition gave me a chance to read and learn about the great work and contribution of this great national leader for the unification of India. Also, taking part in the essay competition and writing about integrity made me realize the importance and need of integrity in ones life, which until now was missing, atleast in mine.

I was very excited to know the results all through the period and once the results were out, I was ecstatic. it gave me immense happiness to know that my hardwork had been appreciated and rewarded.

Further, I had come down to Chennai from Hyderabad only to collect my prize, and the ceremony was just so educating and the brilliance of the speakers had me spellbound.

It was a great feeling to have met personalities as prominent as Sri N vittal and Sri T.S. Krishnamurthy.

I thank the entire team of SIV-G once again for allowing me to have such a wonderful time.

Your presence would have added immensely to the rich experience I had."

- Arihant Baid, ICAI, Hyderabad

4.  "Was a fascinating experience sir ! We really missed your presence at the function. It was like the captain missing from a cricket team. Winning the Siv-G Contest for the second successive time was really satisfactory. More than the award, I feel being associated with the fabulous trio i.e Siv-G, Sardar Patel Memorial Trust and BVB has made me a patriotic and a morally integrated Citizen. I was eagerly waiting for this year's contest.

My humble request is to enhance the age limit to 26 years since I am ageing! Such an amount of excitement and vigour is what this contest has brought to me ! Long live the memory of Sardar and long live the aura  SIV-G."

- Arvind R, ICSI, Chennai

5.  "I am Anupama Prakash, one of the prize winners of the contest. I had been to BVB on the 31st and it was truly an amazing experience. Initially I wasnt sure how entertaining the evening was going to be but as time progressed I realised the evening was going to be not just entertaining but also extremely educative and informative. I got to know so much about Shri. Sardar Vallabhai Patel that I didnt know earlier. All the speeches were extremely interesting and worth remembering. The certficate and the prizes were also grand and very encouraging. On the whole, I feel I did the right thing by taking part in the contest and I hope to continue in the forthcoming years.

P.S.: A hot cup of tea in that cold AC room would have made the evening warmer and better. Other than that, no complaints! The function was indeed a grand success!

- Anupama Prakash, AC Tech, Anna University, Chennai

6.  "Not too many organisations intend to provoke a social cause.I am so happy that siv-g successfully organised this competition.About the impact it had on me, well everybody knows about our great leaders, but we only know them.To render them appropriate respect then we must learn about them and practice their ways of integrity in our daily life.Siv-g must be proud because it made me try to at least adopt the ways of the great Sardar Patel in mine and if it was'nt this competition then i am not sure which would have made me do so. Thank you so much."
